Do you know if your leafy greens are receiving enough light?
It is important that plants receive their specific desired amount of light everyday for optimal growth. Daily light integral (DLI) is a measurement used to understand the quantity of light plants receive throughout the day. If you are curious how many photosynthetically active radiation (PAR) photons (a fancy way of saying wavelengths of light spectrum) your greenhouse receives, you can calculate it through this equation:
DLI= (PPFD) (Photoperiod) (3600) / 1,000,000
*PPFD can be measured with a photosynthetically active radiation sensor
*Photoperiod = hours of light |
