CO2 - Photosynthesis Enhancement
As a key abiotic factor, CO2 plays a critical role in horticultural applications. Delivering more of this vital input to the plant is attained by “CO2 gassing” in the hope of raising the CO2 level above the ambient level of 400 PPM.
However, “CO2 gassing” has been rendered impractical and prohibitively expensive, because :
• 85% of all protected-growth-operations are unsealed and have open venting. This means that CO2 escapes through the vent, barely raising its level much above the ambient level of ~ 400 PPM.
• even sealed facilities resort to venting during the milder months when other growing conditions are optimal. But with CO2 periodically through the vent, the level barely rises to above the level of ~ 600 PPM. Thus the plant cannot take full advantage of the better light and temperature conditions, leaving “yield on the vine”.
Research shows that if the PPM level on the leaf surface is consistently raised to 1,000-1,200, then the plant’s ability to absorb CO2 increases dramatically. This exactly the pain- point that our foliar spray technology addresses, resulting in a yield increase of ~ 35%.
An additional benefit is that it eliminates epiphytic pathogens such as powdery mildew.
This is briefly described in the attached video:
The technology has undergone multiple successful technology trials and its commercial viability is proven over a wide variety of crops.
Benefits of our CO2 Delivery Solutions™ are:
1. Increased Yield - as much as 35% compared to traditional methods.
2. Perimeter Protection™ - suppression of epiphytic pathogens e.g. powdery mildew
3. Lower Carbon Footprint - over 95% reduction in CO2 consumption
4. Optimal CO2 year-round - regardless of venting periods.
In summary, our solution results in greater revenue and lower cost/kg, yielding for greater margins and nearly doubling your gross profits.
